Pastor Buddy Wimberly "Letting Go Of What Already Belongs To God"

Exo 7:14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.

Throughout Exodus you will find wording concerning Pharaohs heart. (text, 7:22, 8:15, 8:19. 8:32, 9:7, 9:12, 9:34, 10:1, 10:20, 10:27, 11:10, 14:4)hardened

God was trying to pry away the tight grip of Pharaoh off of the children of Israel. 430 years Gods people had been held tight in captivity. Now God was trying to rightly get what belonged to Him. Pharaoh would not let go. God sent ten plagues to try to loosen Pharaohs grip- ten- interesting ten fingers- (water-frogs-lice-flies-murrain-boils-hail-locusts-darkness-death) HARDENED HIS HEART-

I Think so many times Gods people follow the same pattern- we will not surrender and let go- we hang on only to find more difficulty- we hang on only to find more grief and heartache- we hang on to and find ourselves aggravated and frustrated the more that we become in entangled in bitterness- refuse to bow their knee and give in- feel like weve got to prove something- stubbornness and pride takes control until it finally leads us to being overwhelmed in distress!

Some things just automatically belong to God- He works in our life to loosen our grip-give Him what already belongs to Him- will not make us be tenderhearted- will not make us be willing- will not make us to sensitive to His desires-

Our Life- Romans 12:1-2 : Mark 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospels the same shall save it. : I Corinthians 6:19-20 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods.

My body, my life!

He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose!

Our Losses- Job chapter 1- possessions- materialistic- real loss- family- lost our priorities today- love people and use things- now we love things and use people- Job has had to have a funeral for his whole family- terrible tragedy- while just the day before- having a rejoicing reunion- now death has darkened the door step of his life- what did He do- how did he handle such a loss- chapter 1:20-22 and in chapter 2:8 sat down in the ashes-

Our Load- Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Fear and worry is often the reasoning behind holding on so tight even when we know that we should just give it to God.

Matthew 6- admonishment against fear and worry. Take no thought
