Is a book written by David Murrow and is getting rave reviews.

Murrow says that Church has become too effeminate and has striped the men of their masculinity. Soft terms like, “Having a relationship with Jesus Christ” (another man) is repulsive to a real man. Passive activities like praying and Bible reading is unmanly. Our worship songs are feminine. Grown men don’t cry. And the church has structured it’s opportunities for involvement around the women.

LISTEN TO ME GOOD…. Real Men Love JESUS

There is absolutely nothing effeminate about our Savior or about loving Him and building a personal intimate love relationship with Him. A man that cannot openly commit to a love relationship with Jesus may indeed be the “sissy.”

Some churches have resorted to such things as “Sportsmen Festivals” in order to attract the men back to the church. I read one place where men in the church where encouraged to settled their differences “like men” (fight). And encouraged not to attempt to bridle their anger. So what if these new adjustments do bring men back into the church? What have we accomplished? Are we commissioned by Christ to seek a greater attendance number at church services?

I’ll tell you what we have – we have a larger number of men coming to church and being lead to believe that they do not have to be changed, in fact they are encouraged to display their manly attributes in order to set the other men at ease.

My daddy used to say, “It takes a big man to be a Christian”. Try getting a bunch of men to stick a Bible under their arm and walk down the street. If you look around you’ll probably find out that you’re walking alone.

We are not trying to reform people or even to church the unchurched. The plain truth is that all men everywhere must be born again period. Men hate going to church because they don’t have a personal intimate love relationship with Jesus Christ. And just going to manly functions at a church without that relationship is just a false sense of eternal security.

1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

I Corinthians 5:7 “…For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:”

Jesus Christ the Son of God was born into this world for many reasons. One of the most important reasons (if not the most important reason) was that He might be offered up as the Lamb of God on Passover day for the remission of man’s sin.

Contrary to the traditional ideas of religion (about Good Friday, the Sabbath, etc…) below is a summary of the events of the week of the Passion of the Christ.

Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem was on Sunday Nisan 10^th. The day that the Passover lamb was to be set aside and marked for sacrifice. Ex. 12:3

Jesus was crucified on Wednesday in the evening, Passover Preparation Day, Nisan 14th. Ex 12:6; John 19:14

He was entombed Wednesday at evening (The Lord’s Passover) Lev. 23:5

He was in the heart of the earth...

Wednesday night (Night 1 - Passover)

Thursday (Day 1- Passover)

Thursday night (Night 2 Feast of Unleavened bread – No Work) Lev. 23:6-7

Friday (Day 2 – Still first day of Unleavened bread))

Friday night (Night 3 – start of the weekly Sabbath – No Work)

Saturday (Day 3 – still the weekly Sabbath).

The Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected at twilight on Saturday...
at the instant Saturday died, and the instant Sunday was born.

The basis for believing that Jesus was resurrected on Sunday at dawn is given in Matthew 28.1 and 28.5-6. Specifically, it was at dawn on a Sunday that Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to the Lord's tomb and heard the angel say, "He is risen."

Accordingly, many churches celebrate the Lord's resurrection by holding services at dawn on Easter Sunday. As do we. Because after all is said and done… what really matters is that the tomb is now empty and He is alive forevermore and will one day return to take us home with Him.

I Corinthians 1:17-18

1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

The cross of Christ was so much more than just a Historical event!

Historically = A man named Jesus died by crucifixion almost 2000 years ago.

Spiritually = All the forces of Heaven and of Hell were on collision course. He wasn’t just a man – He was the eternal Son of God and the God that never knew death experientially was dying.

1. Q. Why was He there on that cross?

A. It was not for any sin of His own but for the sin of everyone in the whole world, past, present and future. His death was accepted as the payment for the sin of all mankind!

2. Q. What was it that happened to this Jesus as He was on this cross?

A. He was made sin for us. He was made a curse for us. He was forsaken by His Father. The Romans did not kill Him, the Jews did not kill Him and the Devil could not kill Him. He gave his life willingly. His Father offered His own Son as a sacrifice for our sin. Jesus endured the total wrath of God toward sin for us.

3. Q. What benefits come to us because of the cross?

A. He received Judgment that we might receive Grace. “It is finished” the curse and the power of sin over us has been broken. The sin debt is “paid in full”. All who place their trust in the finished work of Calvary now enjoy the privilege of being called “sons of God”.

4. Q. What is the alternative to trusting this plan of salvation?

A. If you reject His payment for you, then you must pay for yourself. The price is death (spiritual). Total and complete separation from a Holy God. And since you are not qualified to ever meet the demands of this sin-debt, you will spend eternity in Hell, A lake of fire that burns forever, fueled by God’s wrath toward sin.

Have you trusted in the finished work of Christ on Calvary. Today is the day of Salvation – please do not delay.
