Your salvation is between you and God.
Salvation: The total work of God in affecting a right relationship between man and Himself.
Total: Complete
Work:
God the Father provided the sacrifice, Jesus, the Lamb of God.
God the Son worked to keep the law and He kept it perfectly
God the Holy Ghost draws and convicts sinners.
All the work is of God. There is nothing we can do.
We don't seek after God. God seeks after us. God loves sinners.
Requirements:
Confession: We agree with God. God says I am a sinner and I can't save myself, so I need a savior.
Repentance: Turning from sin and turning to God. You can't have the things of the world an dGod. God hears our confession and sees our hearts. Once we repent, God works to draw us back.
Faith: To place absolute trust in _____. Believing completely in God's work and it's sufficent enough to save our souls. Also, it's trusting Him with everything. The only way to be saved is to trust Him fully.
Regeneration: The indwelling of the Holy Ghost. The only thing that changed in us is we have the Holy Ghost. We now have a struggle between the flesh and the Holy Ghost. Our flesh loves sin, but the Holy Ghost wants us to live a life for Christ. Eternal life begins at the moment of spiritual rebirth.
Holy Scripture: How is God's total work revealed to us? Through the teachings of the scriptures. The book was not written as a set of rules, but as a way to free us. We are not living by the rules of religion but by the relationship we have with Christ, and we cannot judge others by the rules of religion. The gospel is our "inspiration" for a better life. Jesus is the Word.
Salvation is not about following a set of rules but about the relationship.
Confession is an ongoing process in our Christian walk.

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Blessed = Happy; prosperous in worldly affairs; enjoying spiritual happiness and the favor of God; enjoying heavenly felicity
Tried = Accepted or Approved (Proven)
Endureth = to persevere or to stay under. Endurance doesn't always feel like you're making progress.
Temptation = putting to proof (adversity).
The adversity a Christian is put through is to prove our faith. Our faith can only be proven through temptations and trials.
The trying of our faith gives the Christian character.
Afflictions do not make the people of God miserable. There is a great deal of difference between a Christian and a man of the world: his best estate is vanity (Ps 39:5) and a Christian’s worst estate is happiness (blessed). Sometimes afflicted but always blessed.
Happy men don’t endure… Men that have endured are happy.
The blessedness comes from the proving of our faith. You cannot truthfully say that you have faith until you have endured the tests. And these tests are not to be blamed on God as though He would somehow flippantly toy with His children by tempting us to sin. We must simply prove our faith by continuing in the commitment that we have made to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.
Our God – our loving heavenly Father only gives us only good things. Temptations must come, the believer must endure (stay under it) and you will come forth as gold tried in the furnace.
Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Jas 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Jas 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Patience = cheerful endurance Perfect = complete.

God looks at the heart of the individual.
God chooses the person not because fo the person, but because of the honor it could bring God.
God uses His calling for our good- to mold us and make us into who we are to be in Christ.
Abraham knew the facts, but God said it was possible.
We have to believe that God can do anything.
God chooses us because He wants to create a work in us.
If your faith hasn't been bomarded by reality, then your faith may not be real.
Everyone has slipped up, even the great men of the Bible, but they were still used by God.
Faith isn't just for those in the Bible, but also for us today.
The same type of faith Abraham had in God is the same type of faith we need to have in God and His plan for us.
Salvation isn't just about living a better life, it's believing in God.
Just because you have doubts and fears, don't stagger at God's promise.

She says that she loves him but she often goes out with others instead of spending time with him. He loves her more than I have ever known a man to love a woman. When they first married, he forsook a very highly respected position in order to spend as much time with her as possible. At that time she also vowed to forsake all others and to keep herself unto him alone. But since that day she has often been seen with former lovers as they would immerse themselves in their passions. There are way too many days when he waits at home for her to come and share her love with him as she had at one time but it seems as though she has lost her desire for him.
Truthfully she is now back to: drinking alcohol, taking illegal drugs, having sex outside of marriage,… She is lying to him, herself and to others, she is filled with hatred, envy, strife and anger toward her husband and those that love him. In short, she is unfaithful to him in almost everyway possible and yet still he loves her and wants her to come home to him.
The man is Jesus our Savior and the woman is the Churchmember. The average churchmember today has forsaken his vows and has returned unto the lusts from which he claimed he was delivered. His attendance is weak and sporadic, his giving is optional and begrudged, his Bible and prayer time are almost no existent and his passion is for another not for his Lord.
When we came to Christ, we promised Him everything!!
God commanded Hosea to take a wife from the harlots, Hosea's wife was living a godly life and keeping the vows of marriage, but she started going back to her lifestyle.
Hosea's love is an example of God's love for the church. The churchmembers are the Harlot. We, the churchmembers, have put everything else ahead of our Lord.
Love covers a multiple of sin.
Similar to what Hosea did for Gomer, Christ does for us.
God pulled us out of sin. We're not worthy that anyone should want us, but God loved us enough to forgive us and love us, despite everything we've done.

Impute = To reckon to one what does not belong to him.
Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
We are sinners not because of breaking God’s law, we are sinners because of the law of imputation. Adam’s sin was reckoned to his descendants, it does not belong to us but it is reckoned to us. Adam = Man. Our representative fell to sin and thereby we are all reckoned as sinners.
Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Therefore we are sinners by no fault of our own! Not Fair you may say!!!
It is more fair than you can imagine. Think for a moment – if we were innocent or guilty based our individual personal ability, then it is certain 1. That all would still be found guilty (for all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.) Romans 3:23
2. No one would ever be able then to pay the debt for even his own sin.
3. However every individual would be accountable for his own sin debt.
Thanks be to God… this is only half of the story…..
Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Just as sin is by imputation… so is righteousness. This is so marvelous because our righteousness is before God as filthy rags. So that it could never be by our righteousness that we could have hope of eternal life.
Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

LIFE IS UNFAIR
Rth 1:3 And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons.
Rth 1:4 And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.
Rth 1:5 And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband
GOD’S GIFT UNAPPRECIATED
Rth 1:15 And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
Rth 1:18 When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.
GOD’S BLESSINGS UNRECOGNIZED
Rth 1:20 And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi (pleasant), call me Mara (bitter): for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me
Rth 1:21 I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?
FAITHFULNESS REWARDED
Rth 2:11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.
Rth 2:12 The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
RESTING IN GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
Rth 3:11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Rth 3:18 Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
ABUNDANCE BEYOND OUR DREAMS
Rth 4:13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
Rth 4:14 And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
Rth 4:15 And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
Rth 4:16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
Rth 4:17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins,
which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Mat 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Mat 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with
them:
Mat 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom
cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our
lamps are gone out.
Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough
for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that
were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open
to us.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour
wherein the Son of man cometh.
There are ten virgins likened unto the Kingdom of Heaven, they all took
their lamps and went out together. Five of them are accounted as wise
because of their preparation with additional oil. The other five are
accounted as foolish because of their lack of prudence to prepare. All
ten are pious in their apparent commission to religion but only the five
wise have committed for the long haul (the bridegroom tarried). All the
virgins left their lamps lit awaiting the groom’s return but because of His
tarrying they all grew weary and fell asleep.
Then at a time when they thought not – He came and the call rang out to
go and meet Him. They all supposed themselves to be ready (v7). But
the foolish had not sufficient Grace to finish. The request of the foolish
to receive from the wise was met with the sobering answer that all must
work out their own salvation.
If you are just resting among the righteous in hopes that there will an
opportunity to get right at the end, please do not wait until it’s too late.
The foolish could have gone and purchased oil anytime before the call
went out, but after the call… it was just too late.
Notice the response given to the foolish in v 12 and compare it to the
statement of our Lord in Matthew 7:23 concerning the religious lost

Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one
thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth
unto those things which are before,
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in
Christ Jesus.
Many are held captive by unseen chains. There are things which may hold
me back that even I don’t see or understand. It is this devise of the enemy
that causes more failure in the walk of believers than anything else we know.
All of us have a past. And the advise to all of us has been for us to give our
past to Christ. This sounds good but it seems to focus way to much on the
past than on the One who has forgiven us, not only our past but all our sin.
Bro Dave shared from Matt 20:1-16 about the parable of the laborers, the
first set was hired at 6, more at 9, more at 12, more again at 3 and even more
at 5, and each received the same wage of a penny for the day. The disgust
of the earlier laborers was based on their past. But at the end of the day it
became apparent that once you enter the vineyard the only thing that really
matters now is the future. “forgetting those things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
None of us are there yet. And all of us have a past. Paul’s solution was to
forget the past and focus on the things before us. You’re in His vineyard
now, it’s time to put the past behind you (it just doesn’t matter anymore –
you’re in the vineyard – that’s what really matters).

Pastor Richard "Buddy" Wimberly "Praying Always" Ephesians 6:18-24
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit
Praying = to supplicate and worship
Prayer = worship
Supplication = petition; request
Jesus is our intercessor. Constant Prayer ensures constant contact (fellowship) with the soldier’s Commanding Officer. A faithful prayerlife energizes the Christian’s armor. Remember that the armor is God’s, that is our strength is in the power of His might. And our warfare is not against flesh and blood.
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
The warfare, the armor and the prayers are not about getting the things that we want. Or about having things to go our way. It is however about us and our relationship with the Heavenly Father. We spend a lot of time, energy and money trying to change our circumstances, but that doesn’t change us. (you can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy) Folks can be changed but only by the power of God – not by manipulation of surroundings, associations or activities. Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Eph 6:21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
Eph 6:22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
Eph 6:23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eph 6:24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
There are those who do not love Him in sincerity. They only love Him by profession not by practice.
Who has your heart?
