Unto you = all mankind. He is not just King Of The Jews nor is He a Jewish God. He is the savior of the world.
Savior = deliverer (to set free the captive.
Christ = anointed. The Lord’s anointed. The chosen one. There is no other.
This is the central theme of the occasion of the birth of Jesus and it is still the central theme of the Christmas season. A deliverer has come to save whosoever will call upon Him. He delivers from the penalty of sin, he delivers from the ramifications of sin, the stigma of sin, the power of sin, and eventually the very presence of sin.
All the world is judged by God the Righteous Judge and is found guilty of transgressing His Law by sin. The penalty of being a sinner is eternal separation from God and His Holiness. The only hope for mankind is a Savior. Someone who is not infected with sin and yet is willing to pay the price for all sinners. Someone who will bear the sins of the whole world and will earn the right to eternal life by His own righteousness. Then the Judge can impute the penalty for sin onto this Savior and the Righteousness of this Savior will be imputed onto the sinners if only both parties agree.
Have you agreed? Do you know that you need a Savior? Have you received the free gift of Eternal Life, bought and paid for in full by the blood of Jesus Christ? If not, then unto you is born this day… a Savior which is Christ the Lord.

Mary was espoused to Joseph. To be espoused was for all intents and purposes a marriage contract. By the law, Joseph and Mary were already married.
Mary was found with the child of the Holy Ghost.
Joseph was thinking about divorce. Joseph that she was unfaithful.
Joseph was "a just man" which meant he had a right spirit. Joseph had the love of God in Him. Joseph didn't want to make a public example of Mary.
The punishment of Mary being pregnant would have been her being stoned, because in her condition the nation of Israel would have thought she was unfaithful and Joseph didn't want her to be punished. So, he took the blame on himself.
Joseph, out of faith and love, took Mary for his bride and bore the reproach for Mary's condition.
Joseph is an example of Christ. Christ bore our sin on the cross.
Joseph had a vision where an Angel told him not to be afraid of to take Mary as his wife. Joseph was obedient by doing so, and he showed great trust in God. He wanted God's will for his life first.
Jesus-Jehovah saves
The angel told Joseph to keep his commitment.
God wanted to show himself in this situation.
God will reveal himself in difficult times.
Emmanuel: God with us. God incarnated in the flesh with us.
Jesus came to earth so He could be our example, bear our reproach, sin and infirmities.
Jesus also felt the darkness of sin, because when He bore our sin on the cross, he was separated from the Father.

The Gold:
Achan had touch the gold. God had told the children of Israel to take nothing from Jericho.
The gold was consecrated unto the house of the Lord.
Achan's sin cost the life of 36 men as well as Achan's family and Achan himself.
Because of Achan's sin, Israel lost the battle of Ai.
The Glory:
Nebuchadnezzar took the Glory for the kingdom which God had given him.
Nebuchadnezzar had a dream which Daniel interpreted to mean that his kingdom would be taken from him if he took the glory for himself. 12 months later he declared the glory for himself, and God took the kingdom from him. Nebuchadnezzar went crazy for 7 years. He lived in the fields eathing grass like the oxen and no man could approach him.
Stealing the glory will cost you.
The Girls:
David had wives and concubines, yet he took another man's wife.
David had Uriah killed and married his wife, Bathsheba after she became pregnant.
Bathsheba bore David a son. His son became sick and God took the life of their child as judgment for sin.
Sin cost David his child.
After David had repented, God restored favor unto David.
After David repented David and Bathsheba had a son named Solomon, who later became the wisest king of Israel.
Don't touch the Gold, the Glory, or the Girls.
No matter where you've been or what you've done--God allows u-turns.
After all three of the men in these stories repented, favor was restored.

As believers we need something different from God.
God wants it to be personal, not ritualistic.

We must strive daily to give the utmost attention to the Gospel. Our inattentiveness will allow the precious gift of God to slip from our countenance. Some may say I used to know the Bible well. Or I used to go on visitation or I used to teach Sunday School or play an instrument or sing or ________. Inattentiveness to the gift of God in our lives may allow that precious gift to slip and we will then be forced to seek another way to find forgiveness, mercy, grace, salvation, direction for living, fellowship with God. Its words are never changing and its judgment is sure and true.
This Great Salvation is great because of its all inclusiveness, its non respecter of persons and its everlasting quality. Jesus fist revealed to us this new covenant and those that were transformed by it are evidence and witnesses to its inspiration.
Even the Father confirmed the words of our Savior with signs, wonders, miracles and gifts of the Holy Ghost to ratify its authority.
Just neglect or be careless with this great salvation and you will find that all other roads lead away from God. Our Escape is His plan that has been carefully laid out for us in full. Our responsibility is to receive it with the utmost care.

Joh 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Joh 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Joh 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
A New body
Eternal Life
No more Sorrow
No More Death
Sinless Perfection
Loved ones gone on before
The Glory of God
Don’t you wanna go?

Same measure you measure--our motivation behind our judgment. If we measure a person out of harsh condemnation instead of out of love, we will find harsh condemnation.
The law of sowing and reaping applies. Everything given to us is given to us so that we can be good stewards.
What matters is no necessarily what a person receives but how it's received. If we go into a situation out of love, it'll be received in love.
The way for us to get forgiveness, mercy, and love, we must be able to give forgiveness, mercy, etc. in a right heart.
It's the attitude that makes the difference.
Jesus had compassion on everyone he met; He is our example.
We are to distribute the things we have out of love.
When you give, give as you're giving unto God.
From whatever attitude you give is the same from which you will receive.

The woman was at Jacob's Well.
Water in Samria was a high commodity.
The woman at the well had high appreciation for the well. She had provided water for her family throug this well.
Jesus tells her there is a better way, through the living water, which he would provide.
Jesus would give her living water so she would never thrist again.
Water is necessary to sustain life.
Jesus is the lving water.
Religion will not bring contentment, only disappointment.
When we have the Holy Spirit in us, we have the well of life in us.
Jesus is ALL we need.
Worship is to be done in Spirit and in truth.
The benefit of this is absolute contentment.

In 2 Peter we find a lot of admonition to be diligent about the purity of the Gospel and vigilant about heretics. Peter reminds us that the Word of God is not subservient to anyone’s opinions or beliefs. It will not be altered to match your lifestyle or twisted to allow your fleshly desires or lusts. It is God’s Word not a cunningly devised fable or cleverly planned program that needs to be adjusted as times and people change. God’s Word is the infallible standard by which all men may be made whole and come into right standing with a Holy God. It continues to sustain a right fellowship with this Holy God when it is applied as written.
One of the greatest tragedies of our time is the infiltration of false teachers who carry away unsuspecting souls with feigned words (empty phrases), promising an easier way to righteousness through their own lusts. Their judgment is soon to fall upon them.
Examples of His Judgment:
The Angels that sinned – cast down to hell in chains
The old world of the ungodly – overflowed with water
Sodom and Gomorrha – fire from heaven
But He also knows how to deliver the righteous from judgment:
The Angels that sinned NOT
Noah and his family
Lot and his family
The temptation is often to conform to what sounds religious and is also current with the times. There often appears to be validation for new ways when the crowds are growing and everyone is speaking well of the new way.
The goal is to be conformed to His Word not to conform His Word to our wants. (Any old fish can float downstream) We must resist the temptation, God will deliver us and we shall escape the condemnation of the ungodly.
Come to Christ today .. Just as you are and receive the miracle of justification. Those of us who are His children … repent today of our attempts to conform His way to fit our desires and receive the miracle of forgiveness and restoration. The Lord knows how to deliver and how to judge!!!!

God had made a commitment.
If you do what God has told you to do, He'll carry you through.
The woman at Zarepath only had enough for one last cake; however, when she honored God that barrel never did go empty.

There are three distinct conclusions that David draws about his Great Shepherd that gives him great consolation and confidence that:
1) His Provision. He shall no lack of anything that is for his good. As His sheep we are to fully rely upon God for all our provision. We must know and follow our Shepherd’s voice. We should be inoffensive, meek and quiet, silent before the shearers and the even before the butcher too placing supreme trust in the Shepherd that if even our lives are required, He knows what’s best. The implication is: “I shall be supplied with whatever I need; and, if I have not every thing I desire, I may conclude it is either not fit for me or not good for me or I shall have it in due time.”
2) His Protection. By the very presence of the Great and Caring Shepherd, His sheep have no fear of any evil that could befall them.
1. They are Well Placed (lie down in green pastures) Sufficient and convenient for the sheep’s best.
2. They are Well Guided (leads me beside still waters and in paths of righteousness) refreshing and strengthening to walk after His example of surrender.
3. They are Well Received (restoreth my soul) When I’ve stumbled and fell, whether it be by my own design or by the snare of the enemy, He is quick to receive me back into the fold and encourage me to keep my duty to my Shepherd.
4. They are Well Protected (fear no evil) His Presence chases evil.
5. They are Well Comforted (thy rod and staff) the rod that reminds us of being His sheep (sonship) and the staff that rescues cast down sheep.
3) His Providence. What I have has been provided by my Shepherd in spite of those, mine enemies, who would rather destroy me. I am blessed and highly favored. In fact I have an abundance. (cup runneth over). Looking back over my life I see that He has been faithful and I declare that He will continue to bless me until the day that I enter into His presence for all eternity. (like the provision of the manna in the wilderness).

The most important work of the church is to maintain the preaching of the Gospel of Christ. It is vital that all ministers should know that this work is overseen by the Great Judge Himself. The Word of God must never suffer compromise. It’s not about any man’s opinion, ideas or beliefs, it is the simple, straight forward truth of scripture that must be preached in sincerity.
In season is opportunely and out of season is inopportunely.
Reprove is to convict.
Rebuke is to charge.
Exhort is to comfort.
Longsuffering is Fortitude
Doctrine is Instruction.
This is not only the work of the church to reach out to those who are lost in this world, but also the work of the ministers of Christ to reach those that are lost within the church. And then we are to continue by reason of the same Word that brought us into Salvation. The power of the true believer is wrapped up in the power of the Word of God. We cannot and must not allow the Word to become as a fairy tale but exalt it as the standard by which we live and have our being.
Study the word to show thyself approved unto God. Know your Bible and live by it.

Paul needed to be reminded that he was just a man.
We often expect too much of ourselves. When we stumble we are reminded that we are human; however, that doesn't mean we stay in sin.
We need to remember that even if we think we won't fall back into sin, we need to be careful because we are human and we do stumble.
The Lord said His grace is sufficent. God may not remove our burden, but His strength will carry us through.
When everything seems to be coming against us, God's strength is made stronger in our weakness.
When we're weak, we need to be lean heavily on God.
It's okay to hurt, to cry, to stumble, to be weak; however, it's in these times that we need to rely on God more.
In the times of trials and tribulations, we need ot lean on the heavenly Father.
Everything that goes wrong in our life goes through God's hands, and it is for our good.
God will use our trials, our faults and failures, to glorify Him.

A reiteration of the commitment to serve the Lord God to the next generation. It is of necessity to call each generation to this covenant.
Seem Evil = displeases you for it seems to be good for nothing.
Choose = pick or select one. Stop pretending to be a Christian while serving someone else.
Serve = to work or labor
There is in essence a call for the next generation to rise up and covenant to work or labor for the Lord. It is not enough to simply adopt the faith of our fathers in word as we sit and refuse to labor for the Lord. Our children and our children’s children must consider the covenant for themselves.
He is indeed our God and we have in deed served Him with our Labor but we must present this opportunity to the next generation. It is their decision.
Teach them the way that they should go and then require them to choose this God as their’s.
If He is too old fashioned for you. Then choose who you will serve, but as for me….

A walking dead man is not a Zombie as is now portrayed in movies and popular TV series. A walking dead man is however very real. They are among us.
When a prisoner has a verdict of death passed upon him by a judge, he is said to be a walking dead man. Even a man of the street may offend a gangster and he may pronounce him to be a walking dead man. This simply means that death for you is inevitable (unavoidable) and until the fulfillment of the pronouncement, you are living and walking, but you are as good as already dead. That is the certainty and inescapableness of your condition.
Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Dead because:
They are under the condemnation of the law.
They are empty of any attributes of spiritual life.
They are taken captive by the Prince of the Power of the Air (Satan) to do his bidding
They are children of disobedience: it is their nature to be in rebellion against God (they are of their father the devil)
Their walk:
Is apart from God (dead is separated from God who is life)
Is sinful by thought and trespasses by actions
Is in accordance to the mindset of this world.
Is dictated by their master (satan)
Is by nature contrary to God (disobedient)
To fulfill the lusts of their flesh (not the will of God) by acts and by lifestyle.
Is wrathful (unchained passion; anger, vengeance, violence…)
Their solution is to receive the pardon of the Great Judge as was purchased by the blood of Christ Jesus. Just going to church, reading your Bible, praying, giving tithes and offerings, witnessing… is not enough o set you free and give you eternal life. You must repent (turn from death and turn to life)
Choose Life and live.

Your salvation is between you and God.
Salvation: The total work of God in affecting a right relationship between man and Himself.
Total: Complete
Work:
God the Father provided the sacrifice, Jesus, the Lamb of God.
God the Son worked to keep the law and He kept it perfectly
God the Holy Ghost draws and convicts sinners.
All the work is of God. There is nothing we can do.
We don't seek after God. God seeks after us. God loves sinners.
Requirements:
Confession: We agree with God. God says I am a sinner and I can't save myself, so I need a savior.
Repentance: Turning from sin and turning to God. You can't have the things of the world an dGod. God hears our confession and sees our hearts. Once we repent, God works to draw us back.
Faith: To place absolute trust in _____. Believing completely in God's work and it's sufficent enough to save our souls. Also, it's trusting Him with everything. The only way to be saved is to trust Him fully.
Regeneration: The indwelling of the Holy Ghost. The only thing that changed in us is we have the Holy Ghost. We now have a struggle between the flesh and the Holy Ghost. Our flesh loves sin, but the Holy Ghost wants us to live a life for Christ. Eternal life begins at the moment of spiritual rebirth.
Holy Scripture: How is God's total work revealed to us? Through the teachings of the scriptures. The book was not written as a set of rules, but as a way to free us. We are not living by the rules of religion but by the relationship we have with Christ, and we cannot judge others by the rules of religion. The gospel is our "inspiration" for a better life. Jesus is the Word.
Salvation is not about following a set of rules but about the relationship.
Confession is an ongoing process in our Christian walk.

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Blessed = Happy; prosperous in worldly affairs; enjoying spiritual happiness and the favor of God; enjoying heavenly felicity
Tried = Accepted or Approved (Proven)
Endureth = to persevere or to stay under. Endurance doesn't always feel like you're making progress.
Temptation = putting to proof (adversity).
The adversity a Christian is put through is to prove our faith. Our faith can only be proven through temptations and trials.
The trying of our faith gives the Christian character.
Afflictions do not make the people of God miserable. There is a great deal of difference between a Christian and a man of the world: his best estate is vanity (Ps 39:5) and a Christian’s worst estate is happiness (blessed). Sometimes afflicted but always blessed.
Happy men don’t endure… Men that have endured are happy.
The blessedness comes from the proving of our faith. You cannot truthfully say that you have faith until you have endured the tests. And these tests are not to be blamed on God as though He would somehow flippantly toy with His children by tempting us to sin. We must simply prove our faith by continuing in the commitment that we have made to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.
Our God – our loving heavenly Father only gives us only good things. Temptations must come, the believer must endure (stay under it) and you will come forth as gold tried in the furnace.
Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Jas 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Jas 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Patience = cheerful endurance Perfect = complete.

God looks at the heart of the individual.
God chooses the person not because fo the person, but because of the honor it could bring God.
God uses His calling for our good- to mold us and make us into who we are to be in Christ.
Abraham knew the facts, but God said it was possible.
We have to believe that God can do anything.
God chooses us because He wants to create a work in us.
If your faith hasn't been bomarded by reality, then your faith may not be real.
Everyone has slipped up, even the great men of the Bible, but they were still used by God.
Faith isn't just for those in the Bible, but also for us today.
The same type of faith Abraham had in God is the same type of faith we need to have in God and His plan for us.
Salvation isn't just about living a better life, it's believing in God.
Just because you have doubts and fears, don't stagger at God's promise.

She says that she loves him but she often goes out with others instead of spending time with him. He loves her more than I have ever known a man to love a woman. When they first married, he forsook a very highly respected position in order to spend as much time with her as possible. At that time she also vowed to forsake all others and to keep herself unto him alone. But since that day she has often been seen with former lovers as they would immerse themselves in their passions. There are way too many days when he waits at home for her to come and share her love with him as she had at one time but it seems as though she has lost her desire for him.
Truthfully she is now back to: drinking alcohol, taking illegal drugs, having sex outside of marriage,… She is lying to him, herself and to others, she is filled with hatred, envy, strife and anger toward her husband and those that love him. In short, she is unfaithful to him in almost everyway possible and yet still he loves her and wants her to come home to him.
The man is Jesus our Savior and the woman is the Churchmember. The average churchmember today has forsaken his vows and has returned unto the lusts from which he claimed he was delivered. His attendance is weak and sporadic, his giving is optional and begrudged, his Bible and prayer time are almost no existent and his passion is for another not for his Lord.
When we came to Christ, we promised Him everything!!
God commanded Hosea to take a wife from the harlots, Hosea's wife was living a godly life and keeping the vows of marriage, but she started going back to her lifestyle.
Hosea's love is an example of God's love for the church. The churchmembers are the Harlot. We, the churchmembers, have put everything else ahead of our Lord.
Love covers a multiple of sin.
Similar to what Hosea did for Gomer, Christ does for us.
God pulled us out of sin. We're not worthy that anyone should want us, but God loved us enough to forgive us and love us, despite everything we've done.

Impute = To reckon to one what does not belong to him.
Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
We are sinners not because of breaking God’s law, we are sinners because of the law of imputation. Adam’s sin was reckoned to his descendants, it does not belong to us but it is reckoned to us. Adam = Man. Our representative fell to sin and thereby we are all reckoned as sinners.
Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Therefore we are sinners by no fault of our own! Not Fair you may say!!!
It is more fair than you can imagine. Think for a moment – if we were innocent or guilty based our individual personal ability, then it is certain 1. That all would still be found guilty (for all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.) Romans 3:23
2. No one would ever be able then to pay the debt for even his own sin.
3. However every individual would be accountable for his own sin debt.
Thanks be to God… this is only half of the story…..
Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Just as sin is by imputation… so is righteousness. This is so marvelous because our righteousness is before God as filthy rags. So that it could never be by our righteousness that we could have hope of eternal life.
Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rth 1:20 And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi (pleasant), call me Mara (bitter): for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me
Rth 1:21 I went out full, and the LORD hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the LORD hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?
FAITHFULNESS REWARDED
Rth 2:11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.
Rth 2:12 The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
RESTING IN GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
Rth 3:11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Rth 3:18 Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
ABUNDANCE BEYOND OUR DREAMS
Rth 4:13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
Rth 4:14 And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
Rth 4:15 And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
Rth 4:16 And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
Rth 4:17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

Mat 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins,
which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
Mat 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Mat 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with
them:
Mat 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom
cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our
lamps are gone out.
Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough
for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that
were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open
to us.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour
wherein the Son of man cometh.
There are ten virgins likened unto the Kingdom of Heaven, they all took
their lamps and went out together. Five of them are accounted as wise
because of their preparation with additional oil. The other five are
accounted as foolish because of their lack of prudence to prepare. All
ten are pious in their apparent commission to religion but only the five
wise have committed for the long haul (the bridegroom tarried). All the
virgins left their lamps lit awaiting the groom’s return but because of His
tarrying they all grew weary and fell asleep.
Then at a time when they thought not – He came and the call rang out to
go and meet Him. They all supposed themselves to be ready (v7). But
the foolish had not sufficient Grace to finish. The request of the foolish
to receive from the wise was met with the sobering answer that all must
work out their own salvation.
If you are just resting among the righteous in hopes that there will an
opportunity to get right at the end, please do not wait until it’s too late.
The foolish could have gone and purchased oil anytime before the call
went out, but after the call… it was just too late.
Notice the response given to the foolish in v 12 and compare it to the
statement of our Lord in Matthew 7:23 concerning the religious lost

Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one
thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth
unto those things which are before,
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in
Christ Jesus.
Many are held captive by unseen chains. There are things which may hold
me back that even I don’t see or understand. It is this devise of the enemy
that causes more failure in the walk of believers than anything else we know.
All of us have a past. And the advise to all of us has been for us to give our
past to Christ. This sounds good but it seems to focus way to much on the
past than on the One who has forgiven us, not only our past but all our sin.
Bro Dave shared from Matt 20:1-16 about the parable of the laborers, the
first set was hired at 6, more at 9, more at 12, more again at 3 and even more
at 5, and each received the same wage of a penny for the day. The disgust
of the earlier laborers was based on their past. But at the end of the day it
became apparent that once you enter the vineyard the only thing that really
matters now is the future. “forgetting those things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
None of us are there yet. And all of us have a past. Paul’s solution was to
forget the past and focus on the things before us. You’re in His vineyard
now, it’s time to put the past behind you (it just doesn’t matter anymore –
you’re in the vineyard – that’s what really matters).

Pastor Richard "Buddy" Wimberly "Praying Always" Ephesians 6:18-24
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit
Praying = to supplicate and worship
Prayer = worship
Supplication = petition; request
Jesus is our intercessor. Constant Prayer ensures constant contact (fellowship) with the soldier’s Commanding Officer. A faithful prayerlife energizes the Christian’s armor. Remember that the armor is God’s, that is our strength is in the power of His might. And our warfare is not against flesh and blood.
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
The warfare, the armor and the prayers are not about getting the things that we want. Or about having things to go our way. It is however about us and our relationship with the Heavenly Father. We spend a lot of time, energy and money trying to change our circumstances, but that doesn’t change us. (you can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy) Folks can be changed but only by the power of God – not by manipulation of surroundings, associations or activities. Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Eph 6:21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
Eph 6:22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
Eph 6:23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eph 6:24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
There are those who do not love Him in sincerity. They only love Him by profession not by practice.
Who has your heart?

- Jesus is willing to come, no matter what we've done or who we are.
- Jesus marveled at the Centurion and the way the Centurion had replied “speak the word.”
- The Centurion's servant was healed according to the Centurion's faith.
- Anything we ask in faith believing, we can have. We must place our faith in Him and believe what He says what He'll do, He'll do.
- The Centurion's faith was demonstrated by Him doing what Jesus told him to do.
- The Centurion went directly to the Master, not through other sources. We should be like the Centurion.
- Marveled means to be astonished or amazed.
- The Centurion knew of the authority of Jesus.
- The Centurion was humble. He came beseeching of Jesus.
- He was also self-abasing. He said he was not worthy that Jesus should come into his house. He didn't boast himself up. He came humbly and heart-broken before the Master.
- Jesus immediately respond to the Centurion's faith.
- The Centurion believed that Jesus could do it anywhere and anytime.
- The Centurion believed that Jesus would do what he asked Jesus to do.
- With the faith displayed there was only one thing Jesus could do.

- We have not only the Spirit of the living God in us, we also have the fleshly spirit in us.
- After we came to know Christ, we were able to have a choice.
- We can't be both Godly and do what I want at the same time.
- We're not the judge of what's right or wrong, the Spirit is.
- The source is what makes a thing unclean.
- There are two sets of manifestation that become known in our lives. We can't always tell if the water's pure from just looking at, yet we can tell the difference between wrath and love, adultery and joy and peace.
- We have to decide if we want to do what we want to do or what God has called us to do.
- God knows and you know when you sin.
- We can tell if our actions are of God or ourselves because of the outcome it brings. If it brings forth love, joy, peace...then it's of God.
- You can choose to go on with your misery or you can choose to say “I'm not going to let the works of the flesh manifest in my life.”
- We have to identify what are our own wants, and what is of God.
- You can pray about it all the time but without application, it's pointless.
- Like the prodigal son, we will have no fellowship with God if we stay in the pigpen.
